Former UConn Forward Caron Butler To Be Added To Huskies Of Honor On Saturday

The exclusive "Huskies of Honor" is getting a new member. Caron Butler, who has followed an impressive career at UConn with a long, distinguished run in the NBA, will return to Storrs on Saturday night to be inducted into the basketball program's Hall of Fame.

"He represents everything that we embody," coach Kevin Ollie said. "He's a very talented basketball player, first and foremost, a husband, a father, a family man. He wants to have other people succeed around him, even more than him. Humble, accountable and you can trust him. Everywhere he's been, they've trusted him to do the right things on and off the court. It's an honor well past due."

Butler was an All-Big East player, and most outstanding player in the league tournament as he led the Huskies to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2002. The Miami Heat made him the 10th pick of the draft. He is now with the Kings and inhis 14th season in the NBA.

"Blessed," Butler said when acknowledging thehonor on Twitter. He has co-authored a book, "Tuff Juice," detailing his journey from the streets of Racine, Wis., to becoming a successful athlete and businessman.

Butler, 35, will become the 24th inductee. UConn plays Tulsa Saturday night at Gampel Pavilion.
